Meet Brittany Pata: The 2021 March Bridal Madness Champion

The 2021 winner of our annual March Bridal Madness contest is Brittany Pata, a custom jewelry designer at Zachary’s Jewelers in Annapolis, MD!

I had the honor of speaking with Brittany and asking her some questions about her design journey, as well as her personal life! Learn more about Brittany and her winning March Bridal Madness design below.

Congratulations, Brittany, on being crowned the 12th annual March Bridal Madness champion! Before we get into the design, tell us a little bit about yourself!

I got married in May 2019 to my husband, Nick. Nick is a D.C. Firefighter who also volunteers in his spare time. We have two dogs, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Husky. We are a fun outdoorsy family, but we also just love to snuggle up on the couch with the pups and watch a movie.

A little about my background. I went to Florida State University (Go Seminoles!) and graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design. I have always been very artistic and my ability to draw and paint was an amazing gift I was given. When I was in grade school, I actually won a few art contests and dreamed about one day becoming a muralist, but fell into graphic design and loved it. After graduating, I realized there was something huge missing from my life and my career, and that was people. Sitting behind a computer designing just wasn’t enough for me.

That’s so interesting! How did your background get you into the jewelry industry?

This is a really good story! My mom is a philanthropist and has been on the Hospice Gala board for many years, and three years ago asked me if I would help volunteer at their annual Hospice Gala Event. When I got there, employees from Zachary’s Jewelers were there giving away a big-ticket item they were donating, and they needed help selling the raffle tickets. I stepped in, and Evangeline, the owner’s sister, and Constance, who is our COO, were impressed with the way I was selling and handling the raffle ticket purchases and told me that if they had a position open at the store, I would be the first person they called. Not even 6 months later I get a call for an interview, and the rest is history!

That’s an awesome story. I can tell you are passionate about what you do! Tell me, what is the story behind the winning design?

A young man came in and wanted to propose to his girlfriend, and luckily had acquired a beautiful family stone, a round brilliant diamond. Even though I have only been in jewelry for a couple years, I have always been able to see people well, and this young man was the first young man I had sat with that I could feel the loved he felt for her just seeping from every part of him. I could tell this young man truly just could not wait to start his life with her.

He wanted to create something special, so we landed on doing a fun and unique starburst halo style setting, and I was able to send him a few ideas using different shaped diamonds in different patterns, and he chose the winning design that you see here! He put all his trust in me, and together with Zachary’s Jewelers, we created a beautiful one-of-a-kind setting that she absolutely adores! When I handed the finished piece to my customer, we both teared up and it was such a beautiful moment.

It’s truly wonderful, the moments jewelers get to experience with customers, especially for occasions of this magnitude! Did you have any inspiration for the design?

A couple weeks prior to meeting my customer, Stuller had some website banners showcasing their new starburst style halo rings, and the ring I designed pulled some characteristics from one of those styles! When he came in and said he wanted to do something a little playful and fun, I knew exactly the direction to go based on the inspiration I had seen from visiting the Stuller website.

I think the starburst-style rings are becoming really popular, and rightfully so. They are beautiful! Can you tell me about the design process of this ring?

The process started off by me as the designer coming up with different drawn ideas to showcase his family’s stone. I have attached a photo of this. Then he chose the one he liked best, and after the estimate was approved, the CAD render images were sent to him for approval. He was very excited to move onto the next step!

After that, we met once more for me to show him the WAX, which we created for him to look at and approve before the ring went to casting and setting. He ended up being thrilled with the wax and loved every step of the process. When the finished product was completed, I took it outside, like I always do for all my custom designs, and took a few nicely lit images and videos of the ring to send to him with a text saying, “It’s HERE! And it’s Beautiful!”.

I’m sure he LOVED it, I know I did. You just might have to design my engagement ring! Outside of work, what are some of your interests or hobbies?

I am an avid dog lover, Peloton Spinner, scuba-diver, Netflix binger, sunset lover, crafter, and boat day enthusiast. I also love having a cocktail downtown Annapolis with friends on a warm summer day.

Thanks so much for sharing Brittany! We here at Stuller are so thrilled with your design. We are sure you made one lucky lady very happy. Be sure to check out Zachary’s Jewelers if you’re in the Annapolis area, and be sure to keep up with them on their Facebook and Instagram.

Additionally, follow Brittany’s personal design page on Instagram here to keep up with her journey in the industry as a jewelry designer.

Something Old, Something New: Repurposing Stones for Engagement Rings

Everyone has heard of the adage “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue” on a bride’s wedding day to bring good luck. Today we are going to focus on the first half of the saying so that your brides will feel special with a little something old and newly incorporated into their engagement ring. Let’s dive into the topic of repurposing stones.

Love That Lasts Generations

A bride will always make her wedding day her own and each bride is different. You will see personal touches in every detail from decorations to vows. They find a way to showcase the things that are most important to them, such as family.

One of the oldest traditions in the wedding industry is the act of passing meaningful family items down to the next generation. Jewelry pieces, such as engagement rings, travel through generations from mother to daughter, grandmother to granddaughter, aunt to niece, etc.

Due to their strength and value, jewelry set with diamonds are favored to be gifted to a younger family member because they can withstand generations of everyday jewelry wear and will always maintain their value. These pieces are certainly something that should be kept in the family.

While diamond rings are often passed on to younger family members, less often do you see the entire ring being used as an engagement ring. Setting style popularity changes over time and women in different generations have varied tastes. Enter the jeweler.

Solutions for Jewelers

As a jeweler, you are integral to making sure a repurposed stone is used in a new ring properly. While brides may have an idea of the kind of ring they want to use with their stone, it’s important they know whether or not the stone fits the style and shape of the mounting. Your expertise will help guide them to the perfect ring to honor a precious family heirloom.

Stuller provides several options to help you with this task. From making it easy to find semi-set mountings to custom design options, there is a solution for every jeweler and every ring.

ever&ever® Selling Solution

ever&ever® is a complete bridal program featuring high-quality, customizable prototype rings — each a flexible 3C design. While the primary function of ever&ever® is to provide your customers with an in-case customizable ring experience, some Stuller customers are using the selection a different way.

Because the ever&ever® system features some of our best on-trend bridal designs, it is a great place to start when finding a setting that your customer would love to pair with their stone! Every ever&ever® ring can be ordered semi-set so you can place the repurposed stone in yourself.

Provide your customer with the best style options for their stone size and make sure to use Stuller.com/everandever to help narrow down your options by inputting the stone size and shape.

Advanced Mountings Search

If you have the stone size and shape but want to narrow down your selection of mountings that fit, use our Advanced Mountings Search. You can find the Advanced Mounting Search by clicking the featured blue button at the top of our website or visit Stuller.com/SearchByStone

Narrow down your options by selecting the stone shape, dimensions, the metal color you’d like, and product type (select rings). From there, you will only see options that fit the stone the bride is providing. Further organize your search by bestsellers, newness, and price to find the perfect mounting.

CAD/CAM Services

If you’d rather create a completely customized design option, our CAD/CAM Services is here to help. Submit a sketch, CAD design created with MatrixGold® or other CAD-based software, or even a wax or resin model. From there, our team will get to work crafting your unique piece to fit your customer’s stone. When it comes to repurposing stones, CAD/CAM Services provides the most flexible and custom solutions.

(M)engagement Rings: New Trend for Engaged Men

In the United States, tradition has been that the man provides his fiancé with an engagement ring to symbolize their intent to be married to society. However, times change, and younger generations find new ways to evolve the wedding industry in exciting ways. The latest trend that is beginning to reach America from Europe is an engagement ring meant for men. Enter the “mengagement ring.”

Let’s dive into this trend and see how it has developed. Then, as your trusted jewelry resource, we will provide some insight so you can answer questions your customers have regarding picking out their own men’s engagement ring.

Mengagement Ring: New Trend or Newly Successful?

Believe it or not, the concept of men wearing engagement rings is not that new. Cultures around the world have integrated the men’s engagement ring over the ages into their own wedding traditions. For example, in Chile, both men and women wear engagement rings; however, they wear them on their right hand and move them to their left on their wedding day. In Argentina, couples exchange their rings at the engagement, not the wedding. In Sweden and other Nordic countries, both men and women exchange a simple gold or silver band at their engagement.

Fun Fact: Even in America, jewelers attempted to market engagement rings to men in the 1920s. While that sales strategy proved to be unsuccessful at that time, men eventually did adopt the wedding band a few decades later.

The trend of western civilization adopting an engagement ring for men was first seen in 2009 in the United Kingdom. A jeweler named H. Samuel introduced the “Tioro” – a wide band with a single small diamond meant specifically as an engagement ring for men. While this ring has been primarily used as a wedding ring, the trend has started to take hold over the last decade.

Fun Fact: According to Ritani in 2020, 1 in 20 women propose to their fiancés.

With the rise of many couples being more concerned with equality and men in America being more comfortable with wearing jewelry, both men and women have taken to wearing engagement rings to show their matching love and commitment. Prominent examples of men donning an engagement ring include Johnny Depp, David Otunga, Ed Sheeran, and Michael Buble.

Regardless of the reasons or motivations, that fact is that more men or their partners will be looking into engagement rings in the coming years. When the time comes, be prepared by knowing what questions to ask so you can be your customers’ guide at the start of their marriage journey.

The Initial Conversation

Because there is no set tradition for this trend, you may have the future groom discussing a ring he envisions for himself or you may have his future fiancé looking to surprise him. Either way, get to know his tastes and jewelry habits at the start so you know which styles to suggest.

Style

The groom-to-be may want to stack an engagement ring and wedding band on one finger, they may wear the engagement ring on one finger and the wedding band on another, they may only choose to wear the one ring, etc. Knowing how he might plan on wearing his engagement ring will help make the following decisions.

TAR52028 52334

Width and Size

Men’s bands tend to have a greater width. However, if they intend on having an engagement band and a wedding band on the same finger, it would be better to suggest a thinner ring. Wider bands are more typical for men, but it depends on what is most comfortable for him. Compare other rings he may wear to get an idea of what width he prefers.

Metal Choice

While style preference is a major factor in choosing metal, also have a conversation on how physically active he is. Gold is a classic metal choice with many design options available; however, a man that needs a more durable ring for work and vigorous activity should look at platinum or a strong contemporary metal, such as cobalt or tantalum.

Design Preferences

Just like women’s engagement rings, the style and design possibilities are endless. Men with simple or traditional tastes might prefer a classic gold band. Customize with a personalized engraving and make it the perfect ring to symbolize his love and commitment. Men looking for sleek and modern pieces have several options in terms of design, including artistic finishes, inlays, two-toned metals, and stones. Getting to know fashion preferences and activity levels will help you guide your customer to the right ring.

Custom Solutions Make for Memorable Experiences

While there are countless men’s wedding band designs out there that work perfectly for a man’s engagement ring, this new jewelry trend might deserve a more tailored approach. Consider working with your customer on creating an engagement ring that is 100% unique to him. Design it yourself using our jewelry design software, MatrixGold® or CounterSketch®, then submit your design to our CAD/CAM Services team to make their dream a reality. We even create wax models so you can show your customer exactly what they are getting. This is a special moment in their life and you can make it a memorable one.

Are You Sold on Men’s Engagement Rings?

For many jewelers, this trend is definitely outside of the ordinary. However, it is important to stay on top of the industry’s trends so you can best serve your customers. Men will continue to be more comfortable going outside the box and wearing the jewelry they like. We know you will continue to provide the best service to your customers, and Stuller will continue to be your partner in business for all your jewelry needs.

Finding Inspiration: Modified Shanks and Settings

As a jeweler, one of the most important things you can do is provide your customer with a piece that is unique and catered to their specific style. As we kick off Stuller’s March Bridal Madness, we wanted to spark your inspiration with how we have curated our findings collections to include modifications on similar styles so you can find exactly what you need for your customer. Customization is key when creating one-of-a-kind engagement rings. Giving your customer that customization factor is made so much easier when you have options.

Finding Inspiration seeks inspire the designer in every jeweler and connects the pieces that bring out the creativity in artisans and designers throughout the jewelry industry. We want to help you create unique and personalized pieces for your customer using Stuller findings. By looking at the variations within our shanks and settings, you are one step away from building your own branded line of engagement rings.

Modifications of a Simple Shank

What do we mean when talking about these modifications and variations within the findings line? Let’s begin with a simple diamond accented peg shank (SH447). There is so much you can do with this ring, such as adding a preferred setting and pairing it with the perfect band. But before we look at those finishing touches, decide if that shank is what you want.

If you like the simple and classic design of the accented shank, but are looking for a different profile or detail, there are options. The findings line carries variations of this design in rope (SH861), milgrain (SH858), knife edge (SH859), flat (SH870), and half-round (SH810). We are making it easy for jewelers to offer customization by developing product with the same geometry but slight design modifications to fit different customers’ wants and needs.

Modifications of a Simple Setting

Now that you’ve thought about what kind of shank you want to start with, consider what settings fit the design preferences of your customer. Just like the shanks, we are expanding upon our best-selling settings to include more shapes, sizes, and new design elements.

Keeping with a simple design, begin with a sculptural-inspired peg setting (28487). We have developed other settings based on this sculptural design to include a claw prong version (29228), a version with a gallery rail (2000475), a claw prong and gallery rail version (2000340), and a version with an accented gallery rail (2000365).

By mixing and matching these styles, you can not only create a personalized piece, but potentially your own branded line of engagement rings! There is so much more you can do with findings to modify similar styles and create something new. Get started at Stuller.com/Findings!

Piece by Piece™

If you’re interested in bringing your customer into the customization process, Stuller offers the perfect prototype selling system for you to integrate in your business. Expansions to Piece by Piece are coming soon in April 2021 to provide even more combinations and options.

2020 March Bridal Madness Champion

Meet Michael Nashef

Michael is the owner of Intersecting Hearts in Portage, Michigan. He discovered his love of design when he was 14, beginning with leatherwork and expanding to woodwork and jewelry. So much is his love for design that one of his favorite design symbols – the heart – played a strong role in the name of his business.

“The concept of Intersecting Hearts was born from that idea of two overlapping hearts because to me, that creates a symbolism of the harmonies two people bring to a relationship. Just like my wife and I, every couple has their own story, and I wanted to be able to represent that with a unique, simple design.”

Learn About Michael’s Winning Piece

Michael’s piece was created for a customer that wanted to use a genuine purple sapphire with a wide band. Using a sapphire he purchased from Stuller as the center stone, he took his own ring design and added two bands set with diamonds on either side to make the piece wider.

This Art Deco-inspired ring has a special place in his heart as his store’s Intersecting Hearts symbol is nestled between the scrollwork containing small side diamonds. In a sense, Michael placed a piece of himself in this design. To learn more about Michael and his design, view our feature from last year’s March Bridal Madness contest here. A Stuller Ring Story: Heather and Cody

Continuing our celebration of Stuller’s Year of the Wedding™, we are highlighting stunning engagement rings and the Stuller associates who wear them.

You can find a piece of every bride in her ring as it reflects her style, personality, and beauty. For Stuller’s director of diamonds, Heather Fontenot, this statement rings true with the simple yet elegant solitaire ring her now-husband surprised her with.

This is Heather and Cody’s ring story.

Photo by Ashford Halley | AshfordHalley.com

“Very simple, very easy.”

From picking out the perfect diamond and mounting to crafting a unique wedding band solution, the experts at Stuller were happy to help and be a part of Heather and Cody’s journey to happily ever after.

When the time came for Cody to pop the question, he enlisted the help of Stanley Zale – Stuller’s vice president of diamond and gemstone procurement. While Heather did connect Cody and Stanley, she gave no directions to Cody as to what she wanted.

“I didn’t tell Cody anything, but I told Stanley that I like a high color. I didn’t care what shape, the mounting, the design – I wanted to be surprised.”

Stanley coordinated with Cody for him to visit the Stuller building during Bench Jeweler Workshop, when Heather would be preoccupied and not notice he was around. Stanley and another coworker assisted Cody in picking the diamond and ring without Heather being aware he was in the building.

Heather trusted Cody to know her and her tastes. She said, “I feel like he has always understood what I wanted.” In the end, he truly did.

Heather’s ring is a six-prong die-struck platinum solitaire with a 2.14-carat oval lab-grown diamond (VS1, F). Strong, simple, and classic – exactly what Heather wanted!

Custom Wedding Band Solution

While Heather’s engagement ring is simple and classic, her wedding bands required a unique solution to make it perfect. Heather’s vision was to have two wedding bands – one on each side of the ring – that rest flush against the ring without a contour around the ring. She found it difficult to find a wedding band that fit just right. With the six-prong setting, there was always either a gap between the bands or a contour around the ring.

She enlisted the help of Stuller’s CAD/CAM Services to assist her in creating a custom solution. In the end, Stuller’s designers were able to take two simple shanks and create a notch in each that allows the rings to fit flat on either side of the engagement ring. This unique solution allows Heather to stack any ring on her finger with these bands without them having to have a matching contour, letting her enjoy the simplicity of wearing just her bands with their one-of-a-kind features.

A Personal Touch from Heather

Cody’s wedding band was also made by the team at Stuller. Simple in style and made of platinum, it is the perfect complement to Heather’s custom rings.

But Cody’s ring has something unique and special about it as well: on the inside, Heather had a short note inscribed in her handwriting. It reads “Forever Yours” along with their wedding date, the perfect reminder that Cody has found his perfect match.

The Proposal

With all the planning done, it was finally time for Cody to ask Heather the ultimate question. He told her that they were going meet up with their friends for his birthday at their favorite restaurant – Tsunami in downtown Baton Rouge, Louisiana. They arrived early and enjoyed a glass of wine overlooking a picturesque Mississippi River sunset on the terrace.

He turned to Heather and said, “Do you remember how I said I got everything I wanted for my birthday? Well, there is just one more thing.” He got on one knee, and the rest is history. The excuse of meeting up with friends was a ruse. They enjoyed a dinner alone together before telling their families and the world the good news.

Make Dreams a Reality

There are stories like Heather and Cody’s every day. While you carry rings that will bring tears to a bride’s face, others will need your help designing a ring that exceeds their greatest dreams.

We are here to make you the hero and help you provide the happy ending that Heather and Cody received. Stuller’s Year of the Wedding: Rescheduled Dreams Come True

A Stuller Ring Story: Morgan and Blake

A Stuller Ring Story: Blake and Morgan

The process of picking out the perfect engagement ring is extremely personal and different for every couple. Some brides pick out their own ring, while others are completely surprised by what their soon-to-be-fiancé chooses. But there is another way: building fully customized rings with a custom jeweler. That is exactly what Blake and Morgan did with the help of Stuller’s CAD/CAM services

This year on the blog, we are celebrating Stuller’s Year of the Wedding™ by highlighting stunning engagement rings and the Stuller associates who wear them. This is Blake and Morgan’s story.

‘I want something completely different.’

Morgan did not want to be involved in designing her ring, but she did give her future husband Blake some guidelines. They browsed styles together at multiple jewelers, but as the Bridal Director at Stuller at the time, she felt that she had seen everything.

Morgan wanted something completely different than she had seen before. One thing she did not want were common stone shapes– no round or princess cut diamonds.

Blake had so many options from metal type, center stone shape and size to personal details that only they would know about. The options were endless, but it all started with a set of sketches (see below). Blake knew Morgan was interested in a classic three-stone ring, but she was open to different designs on the shank.

One style he considered was a French-set eternity style that would have been paired with matching wedding bands (sketch #5).

In the end, he chose a platinum design with a three-stone setting (sketch #2) with a 3.02 carat marquise cut diamond center and Cadillac cut diamonds on either side. The ring features diamond accents on the gallery rails.

The unique shaped Cadillac cut diamonds in the ring were custom ordered, a service also offered by Stuller. Some jewelers choose to review stones so they can be hand-picked by the customer during an in-person design session.

Custom Created Band for Blake

Blake’s wedding band was also custom and the finish they picked is what sets it apart from others. The platinum flat comfort fit band has satin and rock finishes. It exudes style and tells the story of a guy who is both refined and strong. A smaller band with the same satin and rock finish was also made. Morgan wears it alongside her diamond wedding band.

The Proposal

Blake and Morgan’s proposal was simple and down to Earth. Morgan got home from work on a weekday afternoon and they were planning to go to the gym together. Blake reminded her to go out to her car to grab clothes for the gym. When she walked back in, Blake was down on one knee. Morgan now says he was so pale from nerves that she made him stand up immediately. She said yes! It turns out a workout was never going to happen. Blake had arranged family and friends to be on-hand for a dinner to celebrate. They would be married at a resort in Mexico the next year.

We’re Here For You

You can help make dreams come true just like Blake and Morgan’s with the help of Stuller’s CAD/CAM services. Start with one of our 3C Collection designs and highlight the many options to make their big day one to remember. Stuller’s Year of the Wedding: Rescheduled Dreams Come True

Ring Stacks for Every Style

Style says a lot about a personality. Whether you are sleek and professional, calm and casual, or loud and outspoken, there is a fashion choice out there for everyone. A popular trend in jewelry fashion that is here to stay is stackables. A carefully curated selection of ring stacks will tell the wearer’s story in more ways than just being fashion-forward.

With so many combinations and styles out there, it can be overwhelming in helping your customer find the right set of stackables for them. This is why members from the Stuller bridal and 302® Fine Jewelry teams collaborated to create six curated collections of rings to fit a variety of personalities and styles. Help your customer tell their story with a ring stack made special for them.

Minimalist Ring Stacks

Not everyone is into flashy and attention-grabbing jewelry, but some still want the chance to show off their individual taste or style. And just because a jewelry combination is minimalist does not mean that it can’t be interesting and surprising. For example, one of our team’s favorite baguette stackable rings (122887) comes in multiple gemstone options as well as in diamond. Another strong feature of minimalist ring stacks is that these pieces truly can go with anything, such as a dainty metal ring (52299).

Encourage your customers to enhance their current stackable collection with these minimalist rings that are great for everyday wear and can easily transition to night. Shop minimalist ring stacks on our website now.

Traditionalist Ring Stacks

For the wearer that prefers the classics, traditionalist stackables are the perfect choice. These options include a mix of traditional rings – diamond, signet, pearl, and wedding bands. For example, our pearl stacking ring (653698) combines the classic gemstone with a thin band for a modern twist perfect for stacking.

Your customers will love either wearing these rings by themselves on multiple fingers or stacked with smaller styles on the same finger. Shop traditionalist ring stacks on our website now.

Bold Ring Stacks

The bold wearer is not afraid to make a statement and catch the eyes of others. Chunky rings complement thinner shaped rings, different textures or various combinations of shapes, gemstones, and metals. For example, we see emerald as lush, untamed, and majestic. Our petite dome ring (72173) featuring an emerald is the perfect bold addition to a wearer’s ring stack story. A wedding ring can also be enhanced by curating a bold bridal stack with a 5-stone anniversary band (124303).

Help your customers show their personality loud and proud with these bold statements. Shop bold ring stacks on our website now.

Trendsetter Ring Stacks

For those fashion-forward wearers, interesting geometric shapes and modern stone choices will certainly appeal to the trendy and modern jewelry lover. For example, we believe our chain ring (52078) is the perfect foundation to start a trendy stack or a little twist to add to your current stack. A rose-cut moissanite solitaire (124640) or any ring from our lab-grown diamond selections also offer economical and ethically sourced options that go beyond traditional styles.

Give your customer the push they need to be the trendsetter in their friend group with these gorgeous styles. Shop trendsetter ring stacks on our website now.

Symbolic Ring Stacks

Not only can stackables tell the story of a personality, they are also a great form of expression for a deeper, more spiritual meaning. Whether through faith, connections to the universe, or other personal stories, we carry a variety of symbolic pieces that can help tell that deeply individual and sacred story. For example, our evil eye stacking ring (72149), petite star ring (52235), moon phase ring (124741), and Celtic-inspired anniversary band (124221) all tell individual stories of belief and belonging.

Let the stories told by these symbolic rings join the stories of your customers. Shop symbolic ring stacks on our website now.

Ready or not, the holidays are here. Christmas is just 44 days away and we are ready to ship you everything you need to deliver on every customer’s biggest wish. And with holiday romance in the air, what could be more on target than holiday engagements?

This is the fourth episode in our Holiday Learning Series, and this week, Senior Director of Bridal Alex Stuller delves into what is hot and happening in bridal fashions. CLICK HERE to enjoy her presentation on the most exciting new and popular trends.

New & Popular Engagement Styles

Yellow or white gold: what are brides choosing? Yellow has come back strong in both bridal jewelry and jewelry overall. It is also Alex’s favorite, so she is showing several styles in this rich shade. Alex also mentions customers’ trend towards larger center stones and CTW — wonderful for them and you! Here are the dominant trends. It is also worth saying that fancy diamonds are very much in fashion. Watch for triangle, marquise, pear shaped diamonds, and more.

Art Deco

Art Deco has been emerging as a trend over the past few seasons. Now it has come into its own, and our designers have met the challenge. We love the fact that these designs communicate extravagance and restraint. You will discover the halo-style below on page eight of our October Bridal and Bands brochure.

Updated Classics

Timeless looks never go out of style, yet each generation adds its own special touches. Look for hidden gallery details such as elegantly understated hidden cross solitaire. From the top, it looks like a classic, and from the sides, it takes on a deeper meaning. The split-shank solitaire shown has been updated with sculptural detailing on the shank and gallery — luxurious touches that win hearts.

Favorites from 2020

We have watched these styles fly out the door, and because many are flexible 3C designs, customers have a world of options. They can change the stone shape and size and choose from at least 13 metal qualities. You will see this stunning double infinity style on page 40 of our holiday brochure — an outstanding engagement choice. And you will notice that the accented style below features rose-cut diamonds, beading, and claw prongs — all important trends.

These designs will stand out and start conversations with everyone your customer knows. Yes, she’s definitely engaged. There is no denying that. And what could be more appropriate to a wintry proposal that this fabulous snowflake design? Its gorgeous dimensions sparkle with round and marquise accents that delight the eye from every angle. Stackable Anniversary Selling System and A&E Selling Systems

Irresistible stackables continue to take center stage, allowing each bride to build her unique look. And the best part? The more bands, the merrier. She can add to her stack for her anniversary, birthday, Mother’s Day, the holidays, or just because she feels like it. Our prototype Stackable Anniversary Band Selling System and our new Anniversary Band ($499) and Eternity Band ($399) Selling Systems let her try on many designs to find the one she loves — and give her ideas for future purchases.

And because these selling systems feature prototypes, you can offer her all these choices without investing valuable inventory dollars.

Trends in Men’s Wedding Bands

Gone are the days when men’s wedding bands were predictably plain. Today men have many more choices, and they love it. Sometimes it takes him longer to choose his style than it takes for her to choose her engagement.

Classic bands

Classic hand styles still hold sway over a significant percentage of the band market, but today you are just as likely to see them with special finishes, laser patterns, or both. And do not forget engraving. If you have not tried our Classic Band Builder experience, now is the time to try it. Customers can watch as you make each change and try as many options as they please until they arrive at the one they want.

Contemporary Metals

This contemporary metals trend continues strong as grooms look to them for personal statements and durability. Is he a rock climber? These are the bands to show him. They can choose from tungsten, titanium, cobalt, stainless steel, and our two new additions: tantalum and silicone. We are extremely excited to offer tantalum, a rare metal that can be both engraved and sized — highly unusual for contemporary metals. Silicone bands have a price that cannot be beaten and offer customers the unusual choice of 10 colors: black, gray, maroon, green, navy, royal, yellow, and various stripe combinations. Yes, they do come in women’s sizes.
