CEO Matt Stuller attributes success to loyal customers

Lafayette, LA (28 September 2010) – North American DTC Sightholder, Stuller, Inc. is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.

“At its core, our business is all about good customer service,” says Matthew Stuller, founder, CEO and president. “The jewelry industry is an emotions business. If our customers aren’t happy, we aren’t either.”

In 1970, Mr. Stuller set out to find happiness in his Winnebago with a goal to build a business that caters to the unique needs of jewelry professionals. Now, 40 years later, Stuller, Inc. provides a wide variety products and services to independent retail jewelers worldwide.

“Without our customers, we wouldn’t be here today,” says Mr. Stuller. “And everything we do is designed to make them heroes to their customers.”

One service Stuller is proud to provide is their just-in-time delivery, which is designed to alleviate the need for inventory. Retailers also credit the prime manufacturer for many more innovations, such as:

  • 1991 – Launched first Finished Jewelry line
  • 1997 – Launched
  • 2005 – Became a DTC Sightholder
  • 2009 – Launched CounterSketch Studio

A customer since 1981, Jerry Northcutt of Artisan Jewelry in Sharpsburg, GA shares his experiences with Stuller.

“We trust Stuller. They do it better than anyone else in the industry, and they’ve never let us down,” says Northcutt. “We’ve attended every workshop and event Stuller has to offer, and we’ve grown to know the people there by name. And that means a lot to us and our business.

“In fact, our relationship has grown to the point that if Stuller suggests a tool or product to us, we make the purchase without ever seeing it, because we know they wouldn’t suggest anything that wouldnÕt help our business succeed,” continues Northcutt.

Thirty-five year customer, Bill Stegelmeyer with Karat Patch in Charlotte, NC also recalls his relationship with the prime manufacturer.

“Well, I met Matt Stuller at least 35 years ago when he was the entire Stuller staff. When that first findings catalog came out, I felt like he brought a bible to the industry,” says Stegelmeyer. “And their facility is just phenomenal. It’s so organized, and the staff is still hometown and friendly. You can call, and they’ll help you anytime. And, it’s just totally amazing that you can order something before 4 p.m. and have it at 10 a.m. – its wonderful!”
