The military friendly business

“The closer you look, the better we look!” That’s Heritage Jewelers’ slogan, and it could not be more accurate. Heritage finds its niche as a veteran-owned store that caters to armed servicemen and women. The store reminds us that our military members are one of a kind and their jewelry should be too. Heritage exudes a unique combination of contemporary, big-city design with personable, hometown customer service.

Long recognized as an area leader in quality products and service, Heritage Jewelers has always served those who have served with deep military discounts and contributions to activities on and off nearby Fort Bragg and Pope Air Force Base.

The story of Heritage Jewelers begins more than 40 years ago when Steve Berti and his wife Rose established the store in the Westwood Shopping Center in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Prior to being a store owner, Steve served a 28-year career with the U. S. Army Special Forces. His military service included two tours in Vietnam, time with the 82nd Airborne Division, and time with Special Forces. He eventually retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. Steve paved the way in his industry and was one of the first to cater to the military with custom jewelry.

Steve designed The Special Forces Ring, for which he was granted a design patent by the United States Patent Office. This special ring was first cast in sterling sliver for affordability and then later in precious metals as the popularity grew. Since its inception, The Special Forces Ring has become the ring of choice for members of the Special Forces, both active and retired. A design patent was also granted for the 82nd Airborne Ring. In fact, Heritage Jewelers is especially proud of its participation in the annual U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division’s All American Week, located at nearby Fort Bragg, which includes the presentation of a sterling silver 82nd Airborne Ring to the NCO of the Year and the Trooper of the Year.

As popularity grew for those unique items, customer demand increased for other types of military jewelry as well. Heritage has expanded its jewelry line to serve all branches with products such as earrings, pendants, and pilot’s wings. With its emphasis on custom-made military jewelry, Heritage Jewelers has established an outstanding reputation with the service members of the nearby Fort Bragg and Pope Air Force Base and their families.
